Silk Dye Painting Class

Last Sunday I joined a few other quilt friends from the Edmonton Quilter's guild in a silk painting class at the U of A . We started with stretching out our silk on the bars. Then we used grout to out line the designs. I used my gold fish in the pond theme again. Here is the photo with some dye on. I have a few leaks in my grout.

My gold fish was not to bad.

This is a fairy that my friend Yvonne was doing, so far just the grout.

We also did some blotchy silk scarves too. The long on to the far left is mine. I could see adding some wool fibers to this and making a warm felted scarf.

Here is Yvonne's fairy again with the painting.

I few others made in class by other people.

Here is the final photo of the fish pond one I made. It was a great class.
I also took a wool felting class. I did not need to but it was fun. I need to get the photos of the finished scarf and slippers.  I have lots of work to still do on the slippers. they are just in the first part of felting. I have dried them and they wait for another day.
