En Provence Mystery Quilt

For the past 6 weeks or so I have been slowly working on the Bonnie Hunter Mystery Quilt. You can find the pattern Here.  She has named it En Provence, as last year she did a tour in France. I spent today playing with all my units. She had yellow blocks around the green. I just did not like the yellow.

I thought maybe this pink I have around the green. Yuck no life.

I gave hot pink a try on the left, I tried a pink and yellow green print, yuck.

I must try yellow. ok I guess it just needs that yellow to give it life. I also tried a different center unit. too fuzzy. But I may still try something out. the pattern called for the neutral or light 4 patches.

At this point I have also changed out some hourglass block for more Tri Rec units. I also moved the pink and purple around.

This is kind of the same just two more of the yellow prints I will use. I have at least 6 different yellows I can use.

So I am sewing more Tri Rec units, starting with 32 purple ones. I am not sure how many more I will need. I was planning the full size quilt.

I also have last years quilt to finish. I have the rows in to rows. So close to being ready to quilt.

  2. The last two layouts create a really neat halo effect. I like the way it pops!
