Scrap Saturday

Wow did I sew today! I got so much done you would think I was at a quilt retreat. I worked on blue slab blocks. I am making slab blocks to make a charity quilt. The Canadian Quilter's Association is hosting the Canada's Big Quilt Bee. They are hoping to get 1000 quilts made to donate to Ronald McDonald House Charities.

If you want to know how to make a slab block Here is the link. Each slab block is to have a piece of Canadian fabric in it to celebrate Canada's 150 Year Birthday.

See the cute little penguin, it is left over from the Christmas Postage Stamp Quilt I just finished the top last week.

Aquamarine is the colour for February over at Soscrappy and the Rainbow Scrap Challenge 2017. I started many many rainbow quilts over the years and followed along with each colour for each month. The slab blocks will have to be done by May 2017 so I did Blue / Aquamarine blocks today but I will need to keep working on my slab blocks. The best part is I will have a finished quilt sooner.
I have added my post to Scrap Happy Saturday - aquamarine

I got the Red ones started last weekend.

I got 7 of them done. I love all the fabrics in my red blocks. I have a few red quilts started or planned and have a good stash of red.

Green Slab blocks got done today too.

I got a little carried away and made 12 green blocks. I am going to run out of the White maple leave fabric. I stopped by the quilt store on Thursday to get some more but it is sold out. They had a sale last weekend and it was 40% off and sold out. Crap, I need more. If you have some I will buy it from you. I really want the white, not cream.

  7. A lot of great slab blocks for that wonderful cause. Keep up the good work! I saw the dog show the other night for agility top scorers, amazing coordination between handler and dog.
